1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, browsing, posting, messaging, or otherwise using iranian-students.org and related subdomains, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Platform purpose and scope

Iranian Students & Friends Network is a volunteer-run community platform for networking, mentorship, and collaboration among students, faculty, industry professionals, and community members. It is not affiliated with any political party, government, or commercial entity and may evolve over time.

3. Eligibility and account responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when signing up. Do not impersonate others.
• Keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Use one primary account per person unless we explicitly approve an exception.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use this platform.

4. Prohibited behavior

You must not engage in harmful, illegal, abusive, or inappropriate behavior, including:

• Harassment, threats, bullying, stalking, intimidation, or incitement of violence.
• Hate speech, extremist content, slurs, or discrimination targeting protected groups.
• Illegal activity, fraud, impersonation, identity misuse, doxxing, or unauthorized surveillance.
• Sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, or content involving minors.
• Spam, scams, phishing, malware distribution, scraping, bot abuse, or security probing.
• Posting private/confidential information without legal right or clear permission.
• Misleading, defamatory, or manipulative conduct that harms users or the community.
• Any attempt to bypass platform safeguards, moderation actions, or account restrictions.

5. User content and responsibility

You keep ownership of content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, process, and distribute that content as required to operate the platform. You are solely responsible for what you post and for any legal consequences of your actions.

6. Moderation and enforcement

We may review, restrict, hide, remove, or report content and may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. We may also take action to protect users, staff, and the integrity of the platform.

7. Reporting and safety

If you see conduct or content that appears to violate these terms, use in-platform reporting tools or contact us at safety@iranian-students.org. We review reports in good faith, but outcomes may vary depending on evidence, risk, and context.

8. Privacy

Your use of this platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data.

9. Service availability and changes

The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility, or error-free operation. We may update, suspend, or remove features at any time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, its volunteers, contributors, moderators, and admins are not responsible or liable for user actions, user-generated content, disputes between users, or damages arising from platform use. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, reputational harm, service interruption, or unauthorized access.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless the platform and its volunteers from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses resulting from your conduct, content, or violation of these terms.
